Postprocess Request

Camaix Postprocessors translate the machine independant Mastercam NCI format into the G-Code for your CNC machine, like Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, Hurco Ultimax etc. for milling and lathe machining.

In case of 2D and 3D machining the postprocessor has only formatting work to do to translate the Mastercam output to the controller language. In 5 axis machining the Mastercam postprocessor has to do a considerably more complicated task. The postprocessor performs the mathematical description of a virtual 5 axis machine with all of it's linear and rotational axis movements.

The principle of a 5 axis machine is to use the rotational axis to setup the tool in a required angle of rotation to the workpiece.

A 5 axis machine can in most cases be described as a combination of 2 rotational axis und the distance between them and an axis setup type. Often one of the rotational axis of the machine is characteristic, because it does not change its orientation to the workpiece. This axis is the round axis of the machine. The other rotational axis moves in respect to the workpiece, no matter what machine type. This axis is called tilt axis.

Based on 8 years of practical experience in 5 axis Mastercam postprocessor programming Camaix has developed a general Multiaxis post which is called 'MultiXPost'. 'MultiXPost' supports more than 8 different controllers and more than 60 different machine brands and machine types.

'MultiXPost' comfortably utilizes most controller features to create customized G-Codes like drilling cycles, work plane support (like Cycle 19 in Heidenhain, Traori with Siemens etc.) and controller support for 5 axis simultanuous machining (Like M128, G141, Traori), if available.
